Your Momma's Baby.

October 20th, 2012, Saturday

I feel like I don't use enough bright red.

The nail varnish making an appearance in these
photos is Essie's All Tied Up, which I highly, highly recommend.

Baby Blue.

October 19th, 2012, Friday

Purple, eh? This is new. What brilliant vibrancy. It seemed like the perfect time to photograph my hand next to the ebullient yellow wood of my wardrobe and my sickeningly cheery blue bed-sheet (almost the same colour as my nail varnish) (of course, this is as unintentional as anything can possibly be) (I am not quite so coordinated as that).

Grimes - Infinite Love Without Fulfilment

I don't know how much of a fan of Clare Boucher, as a person, I am, but there's no denying my appetite for her music. This is currently my favourite on Visions.

The nail varnish is, as ever, Essie Bikini So Teeny.

Mister Deep Breaths.

October 14th, 2012, Sunday

Most of the time, my patterns tend to sprawl across my hand, as it's an addictive activity and it can be hard to stop adding just a little bit more, but sometimes, I love the simplicity of an isolated pattern that very much sits on the skin rather than transforming it and following its lines.

That's the beauty of arm skin: it is so different from the skin on my hand; it is such a smart surface, such an absence of texture, ready and waiting.

An excellent version of State Trooper (here's another):

Drop The Lime - State Trooper

The nail polish is, once again, Essie's Bikini So Teeny.

Have No Fear.

October 14th, 2012, Sunday

Back on the horse.

And a classic, too:

Bernard Herrmann - Twisted Nerve

The nail colour is Essie's Bikini So Teeny, but I am so overwhelmingly disappointed
with this polish that I won't recommend it.

Wowee, I haven't used this pen in a while, so it was a nice surprise seeing how intense a black it was when I first began drawing this pattern. It looks sort of like a skeletal tree, which is not exactly summery, but patterns are never seasonally appropriate! Should they be? That's something of a challenge...

Someone just told me this pattern looks like creepy veins. Hmm. You know what? I'm okay with that.

I've had this song stuck in my head for the past few days, but I am loving having it in there. Admittedly, it is probably stuck because I've been playing it non-stop for the past few days, much to the chagrin of anyone in earshot, I'm sure. But I just don't care! Because the joy Jase-y Shwartzy gives me is just endless.
